Top Australian Post-Punk and Industrial artist, according to MySpace Music

Today I found myself browsing the MySpace music Top Artists chart. Of course, I couldn't resist the desire to see where Noir du'Soleil was ranking on the lists. I was pleasantly suprised to see us take the top position for indie Post-Punk band in Australia, and no. 2 for indie Industrial act in Australia.

I will be the first to confess that I'm not sure how these are ranked, or if they mean anything at all really! Still, it was nice to see us up there with the likes of Roland S. Howard, The Presets, and Angelspit.

Object Graveyards

This is absolutely amazing. Really eye-opening.

"The world is rife with ‘stuff’, and the simple fact is we’re producing new homes, vehicles, gadgets, gizmos and other designs faster than we can get rid of the old ones. Tires, airplanes, bicycles and cell phones don’t just magically disappear once they outlive their usefulness. Sometimes they’re gathered together, stripped down and recycled, and sometimes they’re just left to sit and rot for decades on end. Much like abandoned buildings and cities, these places can haunt the collective memory. Here’s a look at the afterlife of everyday objects, piled into staggering mounds that resemble nothing more than cemeteries for stuff."

Website updates: Free MP3s, Lyrics, and more!!

UPDATE 5/4/2009: I've now changed a few things around. The lyrics are found from the new drop-down menu for music in the navigation bar. Access to the promotional area login is now on every page, not just music. 'Music' itself doesn't have a page anymore but is rather split into 2 different sections (thus far) "Free MP3's" and "Lyrics". I just thought it might make things clearer and this way it's all accessible straight away no matter what page you are on. =)

Today I have added a few new things to the website.

Firstly, and probably most exciting, is I finally have all the free Noir du'Soleil MP3 files in one place. Just click on the 'Music' section in the top navigation bar to find the files!!

In the music section you will also notice a link to the Noir du'Soleil lyrics. This page contains the full lyrics for most of our songs. I know a few fans have been asking for this, so I hope you enjoy them =)

Also in the music section you will see the Promotional Area section in the sidebar. If you are a DJ contact us (using the 'Contact' page) with info of the club/radio show(s) you DJ for (web links too if possible) and I will send you the username and password to enter the login area as a DJ. From here you will see 'DJ Promo' (again, under the Promotional Area sidebar). Once in the DJ promo page you can download some more free high-quality MP3's and you can see info about the songs BPM etc.

I hope you enjoy the new site updates!!!
